Foxy Bingo – 2009 Bingo Review
If anyone is in any doubt why Foxy Bingo are one of the most popular online bingo sites then you just need to look back over 2009. From the return of Foxy, their TV advertising campaign, right through to a daily free scratchcard the Fox just hasn’t stopped. In fact they’ve pretty much carried on in the same vein as highlighted in the 2008 review, one of the few bingo sites to really do so.
2009 started with a bang when Foxy launched a huge advertising campaign with a disco dancing Fox returning from out of space plus £1million of jackpots. It was easily the best bingo advert of the year.
However, when Cheeky Bingo was launched just a couple of months later, from the same stable as Foxy, there was a feeling that Foxy may get pushed aside in favour of the new kid on the block. However, Cashcade (who are now owned by Party Gaming) made sure Foxy stayed current and the bingo site to be at and beat.
Regular promotions included free bingo, bargain bingo (including a £10,000 jackpot for just 1p), prize games and guaranteed jackpots every night, as well as the inspired Thank Foxy it’s Friday. They also offered a massive £20 no deposit bonus as well as other incentives to encourage new players to join up and old players to return.
2009 also saw the launch of two new Foxy products – Foxy Zero, a free bingo for real cash site and Foxy Street, a retail section that offers branded merchandise and other products. The launch of ‘Zero was a surprise but like Cheeky Bingo it’s kind of been left to fend for itself whilst all the good stuff has happened on Foxy Full Fat.
The next 12 months should be interesting for Foxy Bingo. Can they maintain this phenomenal surge? Can they be overtaken? Are they Number 1 or is Tombola? Will they continue to sponsor Jeremy Kyle or look to take on a different programme?
We expect Foxy will continue to be one of the best places to play bingo and that’s due to their commitment to promotions and their community. They have developed a decent presence on Facebook and no doubt they’ll be more bingo cruises in 2010.
The only real concern is that the Party Gaming deal could see them move from the Globalcom bingo platform to a bespoke system (if not in 2010 then perhaps after that?). Any software changes may have a bearing on their popularity if the quality is not up to standard.
