Only 60000 Bingo Players Break ITV Bingo Live Record!
On Friday ITV’s Bingo Night Live ran their biggest ever jackpot game as since the programme began The Golden Jackpot has grown up to a massive £60000. As it hadn’t been won, and couldn’t continue to rollover, ITV decided to give away the cash to their next full house winner. At the same they hoped to break the world’s largest online bingo game. The game took place on October 10th and the jackpot was won and the record broken.
However, surprisingly only 59,392 players took part.
On the one hand this may well be a world record for the most players for an online bingo game, but for a prize of £60000 it seems quite low figured compared to the number of entries that can be achieved for prize draws and competitions. We’ve known entry levels as high as 10,000 for an iPod!
One thing that ITV doesn’t mention is the number of players who actually watched the programme ! TV Bingo has been hyped as the next big thing in bingo, but is only 60,000 people interested in a £60000 cash prize indicative of the fact that perhaps the viewing public aren’t that keen on this concept? Did ITV do enough tell players about the big prize? And if they did surely they can’t be happy with the player volume?
