Minxy Bingo Launch TV Ad Campaign – Release Your Inner Minx?
New bingo site Minxy Bingo have taken to the TV screens with a toe curlingly awful TV advert. It features a slightly scruffy looking man entering a night club full of young attractive women in order to search for his partner. Once she’s been located he offers her a mobile phone and tells her her mum is on the phone. We then switch to the lady in front of her laptop playing Minxy Bingo… and she’s still got the same scruffy fella.
You’re then told about £20 free play bingo and encouraged to release your “inner minx”!
This advert would have been so much better if when the guy enters the “Minxy Bingo Club” the Blue Oyster music from Police Academy kicked in! It’d make it more memorable for starters! And what’s with the disco anyway? Haven’t we already got a disco bingo advert in the form of Mr Foxy?
To top things off there’s the strapline “Release your inner minx” – what the hell does that mean? Definitions of “minx” suggest that it describes a “seductive woman who uses her sex appeal to exploit men” – well there’s no seduction, sex appeal or exploitation going on here (although it’d probably get banned if there was).
There’s also very little of Minxy the cat and Minxy’s world too. Given that Foxy Bingo’s fox adverts are now one of the most recognisable surely it’d have made sense to have a disco dancing moggy?
