Wink Bingo – Bingo Blog Review of 2009
Wink Bingo were are Bingo Site of 2008 but have they done enough to be at the top of the tree in 2009. If it wasn’t for the emergence of free play bingo for real cash sites like Cheeky and Costa then they’d be a real contender. As is they’ve just missed out, but that’s not to say it’s not been another phenomenal year for Wink Bingo.
In fact 2009 ended on a massive high for the owners, Daub, who sold their sites Wink, Posh and Bingo Fabulous to 888 Holdings. This could have a significant bearing on how these sites, and their new sister site 888 Ladies, perform in 2010. However, that’s to come so what about 2009?
Wink Bingo continued to be one of the few major bingo rooms that offered new players a decent sized no deposit bonus. The £15 of free bingo offer still continues, but that’s not the only free bingo you can enjoy. To contend with Costa, Cheeky and of course their own Posh Bingo, Wink introduced free bingo games – although these are open to depositing players only.
These promotions are great to attract new players, but Wink have been very pro-active in getting their brand known and earning player loyalty. As well as some rather catchy TV Adverts, including the slightly odd Riverdancing Dog, Wink have actively sponsored programmes including Family Fortunes, The Cube and Harry Hill’s TV Burp. They’ve also embraced social media and are active on both Facebook and Twitter.
Their use of these tools to talk to their users culminated in a £1000 prize competition to guess the number plate of the Wink Bingo Mini. The prize on offer in their now annual bingo game to win a car. The car, however, is not the biggest prize given away at Wink though – in September Myracar79 won £25,000 in one bingo game.
And there’s more! Big cash jackpots, pre-buy prize bingo games and special promotions are the foundation of Wink Bingo and they’ve continued to roll these out week in and week out. At the end of January 2010 you can even win a mortgage free year worth £12,000!
2009 has been another excellent year for Wink Bingo and if it wasn’t for Cheeky or Costa they’d easily be the top site for the last 12 months. 2010 will be pivotal for Wink – we just hope that acquistion by 888 Holdings enhances the site rather than has an 888 Ladies type influence upon it.
