Pollyanna - Is It A Lucky Bingo Winning Name?
1 Comment August 4, 2007 / Posted in WinnersGala Bingo have announced the winner of their million pound Kerchingo promotion and the lucky winner is Pauline, who plays under the bingo name Pollyanna7. She beat 14,999 other Gala bingo contestants to become the first million pound bingo winner from Gala Bingo. Pollyanna7 told Gala Bingo that she’d been playing “bingo for years; in fact I won £6,000 in the National Game 12 years ago. However, I’ve only been playing online for two months”.
But, the name Pollyanna rang a few bingo bells here at bingo blog and would you believe it… back in December 2006 we blogged about a £91166 bingo win at Virgin Bingo - the winner was a Pollyanna18! The £91166 jackpot remains the biggest jackpot won on a St Minver bingo site, but it dwarfs the million pound kerchingo win.
Are Pollyanna7 and Pollyanna18 the same person? We don’t think so mainly as Pollyanna18’s win was in 2006 and Pollyanna7 told Gala Bingo that she’d only been playing online for 2 months. In truth it’s something we’ll probably never ever know for certain, but it makes a fantastic angle to the million pound bingo story.
However one thing is certain: given these two record breaking bingo wins Pollyanna is most certainly the luckiest ever bingo name! We expect to see lots more Pollyanna winner’s in the future!
Bingo Blog Note: We’ve looked at a number of the “big” bingo sites who like to report bingo news, often verbatim from press releases. Not one (as of August 4th) has mentioned this coincidence despite reporting the Kerchingo winner’s details. We bet it’ll be another conincidence when they pick up on this story after reading Bingo Blog!
